September 3, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who was visiting China, attending Commemorating The 80th Anniversary of the Victory of The Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War and other events, met HBIS Chairman Liu Jian. In the meeting, they recalled the achievements had made, discussed China-Serbia joint laboratory and future blueprint of development.
China Ambassador to Serbia Li Ming, Former Serbian President, China-Serbia-Russia Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee Chairman Tomislav Nikolić also attended the meeting.
President Vučić highly praised the contribution of HBIS in promoting the development of Serbian economy. He said, in 2016, President Xi Jinping visited Serbia including the Smederevo steel plant, which remained vivid to him. By acquisiting this steel plant, HBIS has deeply embedded in Serbia, providing thousands of jobs. The joint laboratory will further enhance the productivity and improve the craft in steel production. As one of the largest foreign investors in Serbia, HBIS firm commitment to Serbia shows that this partnership has become one important pillar for Serbian industry. As ever, Serbian Government will continue to provide assistance to HBIS Group and joint support HBIS Serbia development.
Liu Jian expressed gratitude to Serbian government for support to HBIS Serbia. He also presented an update on the construction and progress of the China-Serbia joint laboratory. He stated that through the technical research and development efforts of the joint laboratory, the comprehensive energy efficiency indicators of HBIS Serbia are improved, the structure of high-end customers is optimized, and phased achievements are gotten. HBIS will continuously implement the important consensus of President Xi Jinping and President Vučić by well operating HBIS Serbia, playing full advantages of the Joint Laboratory, enhancing the development and staff exchange programs to make technological contribution in building China-Serbia community of shared future in New Era.
Serbian Government Officials, HBIS Tangsteel and HBIS Institute of Materials Executives also attended the meeting.
